Teachers Must Inspire: Associate Professor Faculty of Education Delivered a Lecture to Students of UNNES Indonesia

On November 27th 2019, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Sharipah Ruzaina Syed Aris, academic staff at the Faculty of Education had delivered a lecture for the students of the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Indonesia.

The interactive lecture on An Inspiring Teacher delved into four main qualities: communication; personal characteristics, supportive as well as teachers who embark on professional development efforts. Basing her lecture on the work of Solpuk Turhan, Parlakyildiz, Arslan, Gocen and Yilmaz Bingol (2019) on the characteristics of the inspiring teachers, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharifah Ruzaina emphasized the significance of inspiring teachers in supporting students’ psychological, emotional and physical well-being.

She also illustrated the importance for teachers to be innovative and a master of their profession. In doing so, life-long learning is a never-ending quest; with teachers having a passion for knowledge and learning.
