Puncak Alam 26 May 2024: The ‘Jawa Bali Overland (JBO) Tour’ student mobility program, spanning eight days across the islands of Java and Bali, has successfully concluded. The event saw 15 students from the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (HS245) program at UiTM Puncak Alam Campus, accompanied by their lecturer, Erna Faryza Mohd Poot from the Centre for Occupational Therapy Studies. They were joined by 108 students from the Business Tourism Management program at Universitas Indonesia (UI) and 10 accompanying lecturers. This program, held at the invitation of Universitas Indonesia, is a key activity within the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Centre for Occupational Therapy Studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam and the Occupational Therapy Study Program at Universitas Indonesia (UI).
The journey commenced on May 26, 2024, travelling from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. The tour continued with visits to Yogyakarta on May 27, Malang on May 28, Bromo on May 29, Uluwatu on May 30, Kintamani on May 31, Surabaya on June 1, and concluded with a return to Jakarta on June 2. The collaboration between Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is a crucial step in strengthening the MoU between the Centre for Occupational Therapy Studies at UiTM Puncak Alam and the Occupational Therapy Study Program at UI. This partnership underscores the commitment of both institutions to advancing the field of Occupational Therapy and reflects a strong synergy to enhance the quality of education and research. The two-week program provided extensive exposure for students from both institutions through various academic and practical activities, enriching their knowledge and skills. Students also had the opportunity to interact and share experiences with their peers from other institutions, highlighting the importance of collaboration and professional networking.
During the JBO Tour, UiTM students also participated directly in a community service program with UI students on May 27, 2024, in Desa Wisata Pentingsari, Yogyakarta, an event covered on the Universitas Indonesia Vokasi website. This edition of the JBO program stood out from previous ones due to the international collaboration with UiTM students. This initiative successfully fostered bilateral relations between the two countries. The creative and engaging collaboration marks a promising step for UiTM to establish its name on the global stage.
