Shah Alam, 3rd December 2024 – Dr. Abd Rahman Alhebawiey, a representative from Dar Alhadis Hassania (DHH), Morocco, paid a courtesy visit to Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) on October 25, 2024, . This visit further solidified the long-standing partnership between the two institutions, which has been in place since 2020. Over the years, UiTM and DHH have collaborated on several initiatives, including internship placements, Global Learning Projects, and Cross-Cultural and Global Competency Training (CGCT), among others.
These collaborations have significantly contributed to APB’s achievement of its International Collaboration KPI (PI074), marking notable progress in expanding the university’s global outreach and enhancing its educational impact on the international stage.
As part of his visit, Dr. Abd Rahman delivered a lecture titled “The Arabic Language: The Importance of Learning It and the Culture of the Maghreb Arab Society”. The session, held at Dewan Muktamar 1, Masjid UiTM, was attended by 145 students and 10 lecturers from the LG242 program. Dr. Abd Rahman’s lecture provided an insightful exploration of the Arabic language and the cultural richness of the Maghreb region, underscoring the significance of language learning and cultural understanding in today’s interconnected world.
The event was further elevated by the presence of Professor Ts. Dr. Janudin Sardi, who welcomed the DHH delegation and presented a token of appreciation to Dr. Abd Rahman as a symbol of UiTM’s gratitude for the partnership.
In addition to the lecture, a strategic discussion meeting was held between representatives of UiTM and DHH, where the two sides outlined eight collaborative activities planned for the period between 2024 and 2027. These activities aim to deepen the academic and cultural exchanges, strengthening the ties between the institutions.
The Akademi Pengajian Bahasa also extended its sincere appreciation to Mr. Ahmad Wan Abd Rahman, the MoU coordinator for UiTM-DHH, for his instrumental role in facilitating the visit. A heartfelt thanks was also given to all the staff who contributed to the success of the event.
With a shared commitment to promoting the Arabic language and enhancing global collaboration, the partnership between UiTM and DHH is poised for further growth, advancing both institutions’ efforts to shape the future of education on the global stage.
