Sharing Session: Graduate on Time’ (GoT) and the MUET Exam Rules and Regulations


Shah Alam, 8 November 2023 – An online seminar was organised by the ACEC Association, in collaboration with Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB), UiTM, Institut Pengajian Siswazah (IPSis), UiTM, and the Malaysian Examinations Council (MEC) on the 30th November from 7.30 p.m to 9.15 p.m. Previously, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Malaysian Examinations Council (MEC) and Asia-China Education and Culture (ACEC) Association to explore opportunities for carrying out preparatory courses and execution of the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) in China. 

The seminar featured a sharing session on ‘Graduate on Time’ (GoT) and the MUET Exam rules and regulations. Graduate on Time (GoT) sharing session was presented by the Deputy Dean of IPSis, UiTM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Farhana Zakaria followed by the introduction of MUET by Examination Officer, MEC, Mr. Haji Muhammad Fahmi Abd Rahim. The participants also took part in the MUET mock exam during this practical seminar. The aim of the seminar is to familiarise the students with the MUET exam format and sample questions, as well as the process and procedures related to the MUET examination.

The Malaysian University English Test (MUET) serves as a critical assessment of English language proficiency for Malaysian students seeking admission to tertiary institutions. This online MUET seminar offers a comprehensive approach to test preparation, covering all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Moreover, it provides focused instruction on each skill, addressing specific components and strategies crucial for success. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the test format, assessment criteria, and techniques to improve their performance in each section.
