On November 27th 2019, 15 postgraduate students and 3 academic staff of the Visual Art Education Postgraduate Program, Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), had participated in a public lecture and paper presentation sessions held at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bandung, Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Setiawan Sabana, an Art Education Professor at the ITB had delivered an engaging and critical lecture on ‘Research Methodology’. His lecture gave an insight into the various methodologies employed by young Indonesian researchers in exploring arts and artistic contexts.
Following the lecture were paper presentations by six doctoral students of ITB. In addition to the research methodology employed, the presentations also focused on the issues and challenges experienced by the students. The UiTM lecturers were also given the opportunities to give comments and feedback.
The delegates were given a tour around the institute and had the chance to visit the current exhibition held at the ITB. ITB was hosting ‘Pameran Seniman Bandung 1959-1970’ which showcased the development of arts in Indonesia encompassing artworks and artists from early 1941 up to 1974.
