SHAH ALAM, 13 JUNE 2024 – The Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA) UiTM Chapter, in collaboration with UiTM Shah Alam SME & Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED), hosted ‘PRE-Route: Public Relations and Entrepreneurship’ at Dewan Kuliah 1, MASMED—held on 13 June 2024—attracted 80 participants, including students and lecturers, keen on exploring the intersection of Public Relations (PR) skills and entrepreneurship.
This talk session featured esteemed speakers from the industry who were the alumni of Bachelor of Mass Communication (Hons.) Public Relations at UiTM Shah Alam: Farahanim Razak, Managing Director at Farahanimrazak Beauty Sdn Bhd and CEO at Aif Dental Clinic; Valenditro Mathiew, Senior Public Relations Strategist at Saltine Communications Pte Ltd – Singapore; and Ikram Sabri, Senior Digital Marketing Consultant at Concentrix for META.
The main theme of the talk session centred on equipping PR students with skills necessary for entrepreneurship and providing insights into the realities of the PR industry. Likewise, the key messages included the transformative power of education, the importance of a positive attitude and risk-taking, and the need to step out of one’s comfort zone.
Miss Dewi Seribayu Nordin Selat conveyed her appreciation for the active participation and commitment of the participants during the talk session with industry leaders. “It is important for students to connect with alumni whom they can look up to and emulate.”
The organisers of ‘PRE-Route: Public Relations and Entrepreneurship’ extended their heartfelt appreciation to all participants, speakers, and collaborators for their invaluable contributions. With insights gained and networks expanded, students are now better equipped to navigate the reals of PR and entrepreneurship—poised to make significant impacts in their future careers.
