Plantation Crop Day 2.0 at Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology: Fostering Skill and Sustainability in Agriculture

JASIN, November 29, 2024 – The Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology at MARA Technological University (UiTM) Branch Melaka, Jasin Campus recently hosted the highly engaging Plantation Crop Day 2.0, with more than 260 students participating in the event. The day featured four informative modules that covered a range of topics related to plantation crops, including sustainable practices, crop management, and technological advancements. Each module was presented by expert speakers from Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA), offering valuable insights into the current challenges and opportunities within the plantation industry.

The event provided a platform for students to deepen their knowledge and engage directly with industry professionals. The four RISDA speakers shared their expertise on key areas such as propagation techniques, planting rubber seedlings, hormone application, tapping processes, and marketing. The Plantation Crop Day 2.0 not only enriched students’ learning experiences but also emphasised the importance of sustainability and innovation in the future of plantation agriculture.
