Negeri Sembilan, 22 Oktober 2024 – The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange Ceremony between Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Universitas Islam Darul Ulum Lamongan (UNISDA) was held on 22 November 2024. In conjunction with the event, the International Colloquium with the theme “Global Synergy for Progress and Benefit: Uniting Science, Research and Community Service” was organized. The event and the colloquium were organised by Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB) Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Negeri Sembilan Kampus Seremban. The MoU Exchange Ceremony and International Colloquium project was led by Dr. Wan Zumusni Wan Mustapha.

The MoU Exchange Ceremony took place at Dewan Tok Puan Sungei Ujong 2 (TPSU 2), UiTM Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Kampus Seremban, Malaysia. It was officiated by Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Noorlis Ahmad. She reperesented the Rector of UiTM Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Professor Dr. Yamin Yasin. While UNISDA was represented by Dr. Ida Sukowati, M.Hum, representing the Rector of UNISDA, Dr. Muhammad Hafidh Nashrullah, S.E., M. The event was also attended by the coordinator of APB Kampus Seremban, Dr. Tuan Sarifah Aini Syed Ahmad, lecturers of APB Kampus Seremban and delegates from the strategic partners. The master of ceremony of the event was Tuan Abdul Fattah Abd Ghani.

The ceremony commenced at 9.00 am and ended at 10.30 am. It was resumed with the singing of “Negaraku” and UiTM songs. It was followed by the recitation of du’a by Tuan Kamaruzaman Zali. Then, the speech from the Rector of UiTM Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Prof. Dr. Yamin Yasin was delivered by the Deputy Rector of Academic Affair, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Noorlis Ahmad. She also officiated the event. The event continued with the speech from the UNISDA Rector’s representative, Dr Ida Sukowati, M.Hum.

In conjunction with the MoU exchange ceremony, the International Colloquium with the theme “Global Synergy for Progress and Benefit: Uniting Science, Research, and Community Service” was conducted after the ceremony of the MoU exchange from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. It was organized by APB Kampus Seremban in collaboration with Universitas Islam Darul Ulum Lamongan (UNISDA) & Indonesian Strategic Partners.

There were four parallel sessions with 19 presenters. Four presenters were from Akademi Pengajian Bahasa UiTM, 14 presenters were from Indonesian universities, and 1 presenter was from an Indian university. 14 universities from Indonesia and one from India involved in the international colloquium were UNISDA Lamongan, Universitas Islam As’adiyah Sengkang, Universitas AKI, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Dharma University AUB Surakarta, Politeknik Manufaktur Ceper Klaten, Politeknik Pelayaran Sumatera Barat, Universitas Muhammadiyah Bogor Raya, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong, Universitas Sali Al Aitam Bandung, Universitas Tamalatea Makassar, and Monad University India.

The presenters were divided into four parallel sessions. There were moderators who chaired the parallel sessions. They were Associate Professor Dr. Angeline Ranjethamoney Vijayarajoo, Dr Irma Ahmad, Ms. Afni Anida Adnan, and Ms. Aeimi Ruzanna Abu Hassim. The sessions were held at Room 1: Dewan Tok Puan Sungei Ujong 2, Room 2:  Makmal Komputer 3, Room 3:  Makmal Komputer 4 and Room 4: Makmal Bahasa 1.

In conclusion, the MoU Exchange Ceremony has officially marked the collaboration between UiTM and UNISDA. It opens various opportunities to work together in empowering staff and students in research, publications, the exchange of expertise, and community service. While the International Colloquium has provided a platform to exchange ideas, expertise, and research work among the participants, it has also connected the participants for future collaborations in many aspects, especially research, publications, and community services.
