KOTA SAMARAHAN – 10th September 2019 : Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Pharmaceutical University (CPU) in Nanjing on 9 September 2019. Rector of UiTM Sarawak, Prof. Dato Dr. Jamil Hamali and Vice President of CPU Professor Kong Lingyi sealed the MoU in a ceremony in its CPU Campus in Jiangning.
Also present at the ceremony from UiTM Sarawak were Deputy Rector Associate Professor Dr. Firdaus Abdullah, Professor Khong Heng Yen and Coordinator for Office of International Affairs Dr Ellen Chung.
CPU is the largest university of pharmacy in the world and it is known for its long history and leadership role in China’s pharmaceutical academic field. Founded in 1936, CPU has 13 faculties and departments. With a student body of close to 15000, it has campuses in Xuanwumen and Jiangning.
Through this MoU, both universities will kick start a series of research collaborations, student and staff mobility programs, especially in the area of herbal and traditional Chinese medicine.
