Mass Comm Launches Borderless Leadership Communication Training Program to Foster Inclusive Leadership

SHAH ALAM: Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam has launched the Borderless Leadership Communication Training Program, also known as Blossom, to develop inclusive leadership.

Mohd. Nazri Ibrahim, a lecturer at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, UiTM Shah Alam, said the program aims to empower leadership communication skills among students by emphasizing inclusive participation in a global society.

He stated that it involves 76 students from the Department of Communication Management and Policy (MC248) from semesters one to four. Specifically, 46 students from semesters one to three, while 30 students from semester four are managing this program as part of their CMP542 (Leadership Communication) course requirements.

“At the same time, this program can help students meet the critical needs in leadership communication in today’s global world,” he said in a statement.

Elaborating further, Mohd. Nazri said the program also offers comprehensive training through carefully planned modules. He explained that this is because effective communication plays a crucial role in achieving leadership success, especially in the context of a multicultural environment.

“Each module has learning goals, outcomes, and metrics to be measured to ensure students gain a high-quality learning experience. The training will incorporate interactive discussions, practical role-playing exercises, and feedback sessions that will enhance the overall learning experience,” he said.

Meanwhile, Alyssa Nurbaya Radzuan, the Director of the Blossom Program, said this initiative can raise awareness among UiTM students about the importance of leadership communication.

Additionally, she said it has the potential to create a new generation of leaders skilled in addressing global communication issues.

“A solid understanding of cultural differences and effective communication techniques enables participants to be prepared to lead in a multicultural world,” she explained.
