Make Everyday Earth Day, Happy Plogging !

18th January 2022 – Semester 4 students of PMG551: Park Recreation Programming, Centre of Parks and Amenity Management, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying had successfully organized and lead a program with a theme of “HAPPY PLOGGING”. This program was supervised by Puan Nur Idzhainee Hashim and held at their own locality.

The main aim of this program is to raise awareness amongst students and society towards the essential of preserving the environment. The word ‘plogging’ comes from the Swedish word ‘plocka upp’, which is an activity of jogging while picking up litter or rubbish around us. It started in Sweden, in 2016 and this innovative activity has gone global, gaining popularity among environmentalists and fitness enthusiasts alike. This international workout trend has made it possible to get in shape and care for the environment at the same time. The most important thing is that waste is being taken out of nature.

Puan Nur Idzhainee Hashim said “Within our capacity, we also can show our concern and kindness to the environment. May we the khulafa & caretakers of the Earth be at the forefront in caring the environment and protecting the lives of the resources.”

It is hoped that programs like these will be held again soon from many to benefit the growth of students and educators in the University.
