JSOC’S Futsal Sarong Instill Traditional Elements Into Sports

Persatuan Kewartawanan UiTM (The Journalism Society Club) (JSOC) from the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FKPM), UiTM Shah Alam, organized a unique ‘Futsal Sarong’ tournament at the Kolej Perindu futsal court on January 13, 2024, where all players were required to wear a sarong.

The rule is set to include traditional elements into sports.

A total of 11 teams each comprising seven players from various faculties, participated in this event which targeted the participation of UiTM Shah Alam students. The team ‘Hadif Suruh’ from Kolej Perindu was crowned the champion, receiving prizes in the form of hamper and medals and the winning prizes were presented by JSOC Advisor, Fadzillah Aishah Ismail.

This event was also attended by six students from the Faculty of Sports Science who were given a valuable opportunity to gain experience in providing medical services to the players. The objective of organizing Futsal Sarong was to increase the interaction among UiTM students from various faculties while strengthening camaraderie.

Additionally, the programme aimed to foster sportsmanship and self-discipline in students, contributing to the development of well-rounded individuals with a balance between academics and co-curricular activities.
