Shah Alam, August 27, 2023 – The Academy of Language Studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, in collaboration with the Alumni Look East Policy Society (ALEPS) and the Japan Business Ability Authorize Association (JBAA), has announced the implementation of the ‘Japan Business Ability Qualification Exam Grade 4’ programme. This initiative was held at the Auditorium of the Academy of Language Studies and aimed to involve 100 participants, including 95 students and five staff members. They took the examination on July 20, 2023, with 92 students from the Academy of Language Studies and an additional three students from the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies participated in this collaborative program.
This Japanese Language program is specifically designed to provide exposure to the culture and society of Japan to both students and staff in the Academy of Language Studies. Furthermore, the program aims to enhance their understanding of ‘thinking’, ‘culture’, ‘business practices’ and ‘professional ethics’ within Japanese society. Through this program, participants have the opportunity to grasp and delve into the unique business approach of the Japanese society. Japanese society is synonymous with a communication-oriented approach that emphasizes transparency in building trust and confidence among customers and partners. This program also offers direct value and benefits to students who are interested in seeking employment in Japan or working with Japanese companies.
This inaugural program has received full sponsorship from ALEPS and JBAA, provided free of charge to the students. ALEPS and JBAA have sponsored 100 slots for students and staff of APB, with each participant receiving assistance valued at RM250 (covering an examination fee of RM150 and a book contribution worth RM100 per copy). The total sponsorship for the program has reached the amount of RM25,000.00.
The Academy of Language Studies in Shah Alam hopes that this initiative will create fond memories and valuable experiences for the participants, as well as foster more beneficial collaborative opportunities in the future.
