7 June 2022 – The Centre of Studies for Parks and Amenity Management, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying in collaboration with Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia and Peels Port Liverpool United Kingdom had successfully organized an International Webinar on “Rising Leaders on Environmental Sustainability’. A total of 101 participants from various background attended the webinar. The webinar aimed to improve knowledge and increase awareness, to learn more on leadership in sustainability and improve local, regional and global -networking. This program was supervised by Puan Nur Idzhainee Hashim supported by the Head Centre of Studies for Parks and Amenity Management, Puan Siti Noorbaizoora Bookhari.
During the webinar the first prominent speaker, Ts. Steve Anthony Lojuntin, Director, Technical Development ad Facilitation Division presented on Low Carbon Residential Buildings: A Practical Case for Existing Homes. Meanwhile the second prominent speaker, Lisa Reilly, an Environmental Manager at Liverpool, United Kingdom presented on Environmental Management in an Operational Port. The main aim of this program is to raise awareness amongst university students and society towards the essential of preserving the environment.
Puan Nur Idzhainee Hashim said “Within our capacity, we also can show our concern and kindness to the environment. May we the caliph & caretakers of the Earth be at the forefront in caring the environment and protecting the lives of the resources. “And do good as Allah has been good to you. And do not seek to cause corruption in the earth. Allah does not love the corrupters”. (Surah Al Qasas 28:77)
It is hoped that the next series of International Webinar from The Centre of Studies for Parks and Amenity Management will be collaborating with other European countries to benefit the growth of students and educators at the University.
