June 24, 2024 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch welcomed a delegation of 21 postgraduate students from Universitas Trisakti (Usakti), Jakarta, Indonesia, as part of an international inbound mobility programme. The event took place at the Tun Abdul Razak Library, Samarahan 2 Campus, and was organized in line with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both universities several years ago.
The Usakti delegation, headed by Dr. Husna Leila Yusran, Vice Dean 1 from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), was warmly received by Dr. Margaret Lucy Gregory, Head of Studies Centre for Business and Management at UiTM Sarawak Branch, and Associate Prof. Dr. Jati Kasuma Ali.
The key highlight of the visit was a mini colloquium, an initiative by the Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School (AAGBS) of UiTM Sarawak Branch, led by Associate Prof. Dr. Ellen Chung Siew Mee. Also joining the colloquium from Usakti was Prof. Dr Willy Arafah, Head of the Management Doctoral Program, FEB Usakti. This colloquium provided a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange, where students from both universities presented their research findings, discussed contemporary business challenges, and explored innovative solutions. The presentations covered a range of topics, including sustainable business practices, global economic trends, and regional market analysis. This interactive session allowed students to receive constructive feedback from their peers and faculty members, fostering an environment of collaborative learning and critical thinking.
In addition to the colloquium, the programme featured an international guest lecture, where distinguished speakers shared their insights on current global economic trends and business practices. This lecture aimed to broaden the students’ perspectives and provide them with a deeper understanding of the complexities of the global market.
The visit concluded with a tour around the UiTM Sarawak campus, giving the Usakti students an opportunity to explore the university’s state-of-the-art facilities and gain a glimpse into the academic life at UiTM. Overall, this international inbound mobility programme was a fruitful experience that benefited not only the students from Usakti but also those from the Faculty of Business and Management at UiTM Sarawak Branch. The exchange fostered a deeper understanding of each other’s academic practices and cultural perspectives, strengthening the bond between the two institutions and paving the way for future collaborations.
