Shah Alam, 31st December 2024 – A significant meeting was held on December 4, 2024, between representatives of the French Embassy in Malaysia and the Akademi Pengajian Bahasa UiTM to discuss future collaborations aimed at promoting the French language and culture in Malaysia. The meeting, marked by a spirit of mutual enthusiasm and shared objectives, took place at the Akademi Pengajian Bahasa UiTM Shah Alam.
The delegation was led by the Dean, Professor Ts. Dr. Janudin Sardi, accompanied by the Deputy Dean (Academic) Professor Dr. Anealka Aziz Hussin and Deputy Dean (PJIMA) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Fazlin Mohd Ramli, along with a dedicated team of French language lecturers. Representing the French Embassy were the French attaché, Mr. Dominique Husken-Ulbrich, and the French language officer, Ms. Marie Cunchon, both of whom emphasized the embassy’s commitment to fostering cultural exchanges.
The discussions revolved around several key areas of collaboration. Topics included plans to enhance the French language curriculum, potential workshops and seminars led by French experts, and opportunities for student exchange programs. Additionally, both parties explored ideas for cultural events to celebrate and deepen understanding of French language and culture within the university community.
Professor Ts. Dr. Janudin Sardi expressed his gratitude for the embassy’s proactive approach and highlighted the university’s commitment to strengthening its French language program. On the other hand, the French attaché, Mr. Dominique Husken-Ulbrich, commended the academy for its efforts in promoting multilingualism and cultural awareness among students.
The meeting concluded on a promising note, with both sides agreeing to formalize their plans in the coming months. This collaboration is expected to open new horizons for students and the Akademi Pengajian Bahasa UiTM, fostering a greater appreciation of the French language and its rich cultural heritage.
