A group of highly motivated students of Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences who call themselves The CLAZZY is being selected in a prestigious program called Smart Selangor Cloud Accelerator for Enterprises (SCALE) program organized by Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU). They were judged on SCALE Pitching Session on 22 December 2020. The CLAZZY is a digital entrepreneur project initiated by Muhd Aqmal Afiq Bin Adnan, Muhammad Firdaus bin Jamdi, Ainol Rozaimi, Syaafiq Asyraf and Fitri Sazali. The CLAZZY started few years back when they first entered a competition called Cyberview Living Lab Accelerator (CLLA) Programme organized by Program Membangunkan Inovasi Akar Umbi (MaGRIs).
CLAZZY eureka moment happened when the founder, Aqmal Afiq rode a Grab ride back to his residential college. During that ride he discovered that his lady driver owned a Master’s Degree in Accountancy. In his view, it would be great rather than becoming a Grab Driver, she can utilize her skills and knowledge to teach others. From that moment, CLAZZY is created as a 100% Made in UiTM solution to let more people to share knowledge and learn. In realizing our dream to enable anyone to teach, CLAZZY also offer mobile application development services, web, augmented reality and artificial intelligence based (AI) solutions that can be accessed at tech.clazzy.my as part of source of income.
As a start-up, they tried to get funding from various sources. They pitched their idea over and over again but they are still unable to attract the right investor. After going through many investors, finally the managed get the funding from SSDU by joining the SCALE Program. The CLAZZY team was offered to join The Smart Selangor Cloud Accelerator for Enterprises program or SCALE. SCALE is together with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a Smart Selangor cloud adoption program that gathers experts and best practices to accelerate cloud adoption amongst the Selangor local business communities. SCALE drives innovation through consultation, training, technical support, incentives and rewards. In joining SCALE, the team received up to USD5,000 AWS credits, AWS training and AWS Consultation. The award is for 12 months. The USD5, 000 AWS credit will help CLAZZY to run and operate their business, to adapt the latest technology in implementing their business towards increasing operational efficiency, thus opening up more business opportunities.
Prior to that, among the achievements they have gained are finalist for Cyberview LivingLab Accelerator by MaGriS and YIM (organized Malaysia Minister of Science and Technology), 6the place in IDE-A competition, finalist for University Startup Challenge 2020 (USC) organized Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC). There are few lecturers involved with the project; Dr Ruhaila Maskat, Madam Nurzeatul Hamimah and Associate Professor Dr Marina Yusof who have been coaching them restlessly.
At the moment, CLAZZY in the process of validating their business ideas and currently more than 10 classes have been organized, 12 registered instructors and over 100 users have used the CLAZZY platform. CLAZZY has 5 team members representing students from different computing science program Bachelor of Information. Technology (Hons.) Intelligent. Systems Bachelor of Information Systems Intelligent Systems Engineering and Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.).
