Faculty of Education Offers Ways to Convert Your Classroom Endeavors into Research

The Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Selangor, was back with the sixth speaker of its EDU Scholar Webinar Series. Featuring Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Hanim Rahmat on Action Research: Research and Innovation in the Classroom, the session was carried out on Cisco Webex and streamed live via Facebook.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Hanim Rahmat provided a comprehensive guide to carrying out effective action research, right from the ideas from the classroom for research writing, planning for research questions, preparing survey/structured interview questions, applying copyright for the method used in the research, participating in an innovative competition, writing a book, and lastly taking part in an innovative competition for the second product, which is the book on the method. Several learning theories were presented in the discussion of the conceptual and theoretical frameworks for examples behaviourism, cognitive constructivism, social constructivism, classical conditioning, and operant conditioning. She also provided a guide on how to combine theories and teaching method in action research.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Hanim Rahmat is an associate professor at the Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Her research interests include Teaching English for Academic Reading, English for Critical Reading, English for Academic Writing, English for Oral Presentation, English for Report Writing.
