Exchange Of Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) And Memorandum Of Agreement (MoA) Between Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) And 18 Industries

JASIN, 20 OKTOBER 2022 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) through the Office of Industry, Community and Alumni Network (ICAN), Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology (FPA) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with 18 industries partners to provide additional value to all parties involved in highlighting their respective expertises.

The exchange of the MoU and MoA was done by the Vice Chancellor of UiTM, The Honourable Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Hajah Roziah Mohd Janor and witnessed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Industry, Community and Alumni Network (ICAN) UiTM, The Honourable Professor Dr. Mohamad Hariri Haji Abdullah.

In her inaugural speech, The Vice-Chancellor of UiTM had mentioned how the public institute encourages its fellow UiTM personnel through their respective departments to collaborate with external parties to further enhance teaching and learning process on campus.

She said, through this smart collaboration, various initiatives have been planned involving research collaboration and project development, publications, seminars, conferences, training and capacity building, which will certainly increase the UiTM graduate employability. “Strategic smart partnerships to create futuristic teaching and learning programs and activities in accordance to Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) such as smart farming, precision agriculture, massive open online courses (MOOCS), videos, documentaries and others have been planned and will be implemented in the near future”.

Eighteen industries partners were involved in this MoU and MoA exchange ceremony which are Persatuan Alumni dan Perladangan UiTM (PAPU), Onlinejer Marketing, MLBA Trading, Speedoffice Sdn. Bhd., Woegar AG (M) Sdn. Bhd., ASB Management, WMIT Group Sdn. Bhd., Pembangunan Pertanian Melaka Sdn. Bhd., Terra Drone Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Figdirect Sdn. Bhd., Geoprecision Tech Sdn. Bhd., Redtone IoT Sdn. Bhd., Pewaris Bumi Hijau (M) Sdn. Bhd., Haji Md. Nor bin Haji Abd. Rahman (M) (HMN) Sdn. Bhd., Aspire Prominent Sdn. Bhd., PLNT.co Melaka (Home Studio), Institut Perladangan dan Komoditi Malaysia (IMPAC) and JFL Sdn. Bhd.

The Honourable Profesor Datuk Ts. Dr. Hajah Roziah Mohd Janor also added that the collaboration will open up to very wide prospects with all eighteen industries partners who have expertise in various fields of national development especially in agriculture, plantation, engineering, telecommunications and drone technology sectors.

She also added that with the smart collaboration between UiTM and these eighteen industries, more academic programs that combine both academic learning and real learning applications in the workplace as well as exposure in the field of entrepreneurship can be highlighted which is in line with the government’s plan through the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2015 – 2025 (Higher Education).
