Engineers in Action: Green Horizon by College of Engineering

On 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, SMK Seksyen 27 Shah Alam, hosted the “Engineers in Action: Green Horizon” program, which was organized by the School of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, UiTM Shah Alam. This program aimed to introduce and promote civil engineering to secondary school students by providing in-depth, hands-on experiences through Green Horizon activities. This project involves Civil Engineering students taking the subject Engineering in Society as well as secondary students in forms 1 to 5.

The program consisted of two primary activities: ‘Greening a Greener School: Rainwater Harvesting’ and ‘Plan Support: Solar Pump and Water Dripper.’ These initiatives were part of a larger effort to repair, build, and maintain the school’s facilities, demonstrating practical engineering applications for environmental sustainability. Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) and Unggul Sejahtera Sdn. Bhd. collaborated to organize the event, aiming to enhance students’ learning experiences by merging community and professional expertise. 𝐓𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐡𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧 advisor of the program played an important role in its success.
