Shah Alam, 31st December 2024 – Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR) Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) recently hosted an engaging “Book Talk with Author” featuring the French books Crème Brûlée I and Crème Brûlée II on December 11, 2024. The event invited 3 of the authors ; Puan Saidah Ismail, Puan Haslinda Md Isa, and Encik Nor Azhar Mohd Taib from the Akademi Pengajian Bahasa UiTM Shah Alam to share their experiences with a live audience via YouTube.
Held at the PTAR main building, the event brought together UiTM Press, students, faculty members, and French language enthusiasts for an exciting discussion of the books on the French language and culture. The authors shared insights into their writing processes, inspirations, and the challenges of creating books that are widely popular among UiTM students across Malaysia. They also explained how they integrated cultural and linguistic elements to make their books accessible to a broad and diverse audience.
A highlight of the event was a lively Q&A session, where attendees had the opportunity to ask the authors for tips on language learning and insights into French culture. The authors offered valuable advice on how to improve French language skills through their books and shared practical tips for learners looking to deepen their understanding of the language.
This event was part of PTAR’s ongoing efforts to promote the books in collaboration with UiTM Press, and to further the promotion of French language and culture at UiTM and also to public. It underscored the importance of cultural exposure in language learning and highlighted the role of libraries as key hubs for intellectual and cultural growth. For many attendees, the Book Talk provided an enriching experience, deepening their appreciation for the French language and inspiring them to explore foreign literature further.
