Ethos! TESL Student Association (ETSA) hit a significant milestone in its effort at reaching out to all ETSA members for the semester October 2021 – February 2022 by leveraging on its official Instagram account (@etsa_edu). ChatSA! or in full Chat With ETSA! is a serial IG live event aimed in offering an open online platform for ETSA’s members to discuss daily issues and topics of student life such as academic, mental health, social well-being, and motivation.

ChatSA! in essence aims at promoting positive communication and sharing of opinions among students of diverse backgrounds and situations. The ChatSA! sessions are also hoped to allow for a safe and non-judgmental outlet for students to share and voice out their grievances and concerns as well as to be able to reflect and respond positively at the end of each ChatSA! session.

The first ChatSA! session for the semester was live-streamed on 19 November 2021 (8.30pm-9.30pm), via ETSA’s official Instagram account (@etsa_edu). The ChatSA! session was moderated by Miss Ivanatasha bt. Abdul Majid. The two guests featured were Mr. Nik Ahza Afiqi b. Adnan and Miss Nurhijrah Fahima bt. Pius. All involved are TESL students from the Faculty of Education, UiTM. The IG Live session on ‘Anxiety of Speaking in a Second Language (English)’ yielded a healthy amount of discussions, reflections, and tips on how to overcome one’s anxiety of communicating in the English language.
