17 students from Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam held a fund raising campaign in aid for National Cancer Society (MAKNA).
The event dubbed as The Pink October Fundraising Program with MAKNA was organised by the students of class EH2206D under the course Leadership and Professional Ethics for Engineers was supervised by Ir. Normadyzah Binti Ahmad. This community program was carried out in collaboration with Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA).
The program director Muhammad Saiful Amri said the one month campaign from 7th to 29th of November was in propitious conjunction with the annual breast and testicular cancer months of October and November initiative.
“We managed to raise a sum of RM5,323 for the cancer society to provide monetary helps for the needy patients that onerously scouring for treatments. This collection is the biggest amount ever received by MAKNA in the varsity level as I have been informed by Mr. Ahmad Nu’man Bin Abdul Rahman, the Exhibition Unit, Lectures, and Cancer Awareness Executive of MAKNA” he said.
The donors were from the collection of UiTM Shah Alam students and charity sales, which chipped in RM3,123, and RM2,200 donation from several companies. The mock-up cheque was given by the Dean of Chemical Engineering Faculty to the representative of MAKNA, Mr. Ahmad Nu’man on the Faculty’s Dean List Ceremony and Pre-Graduation Dinner on 30th November 2019 alongside with Mdm. Ir. Normadyzah and Mr. Muhammad Saiful Amri.
