September 27th – 29th, 2024 – The AKPK Leadership Camp 2024, organized by the AKPK Club in collaboration with Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM), was a remarkable event that brought together aspiring leaders from universities across Malaysia. Held at the International Youth Centre from September 27th to 29th, the camp offered an immersive environment for shared learning and leadership development. Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam proudly participated, represented by students from the Faculty of Business and Management: Wan Ahmad Syamil Asyraf Bin Wan Azman, Nur Amiera Binti Fareed Izman, Nur Amirah Natasya Binti Jaiman, Siti Nurul Najihah Syahirah Binti Mohamad Yusof, and Muhammad Syamir Qisry Bin Saiful.
The camp officially kicked off on September 27th with a warm registration session that set the stage for a dynamic and enriching experience. The evening’s highlight was an inspiring keynote address by Encik Azaddin Ngah Tasir, CEO of AKPK, who captivated the audience with a speech on leadership from 8 PM to 10:30 PM.
Encik Azaddin emphasized key qualities of leadership, including integrity, vision, and resilience. Sharing personal stories from his career, he encouraged participants to reflect on their own journeys and how they could grow into more effective leaders. His speech sparked vibrant conversations among attendees, setting the tone for an exciting weekend of collaboration and discovery.
The following days were packed with activities designed to foster essential leadership skills. Participants explored their personal leadership styles, enhanced their emotional intelligence, and engaged in workshops on effective communication, goal setting, and financial literacy. Special sessions also highlighted environmental stewardship and the ethical dimensions of leadership.
Day 3 began with physical activities aimed at building teamwork and camaraderie, followed by a strategic brainstorming session, “Planning the Path Forward.” Here, participants worked together to develop innovative rebranding initiatives and defined core values for effective leadership. Group presentations were met with constructive feedback from judges, providing a valuable learning opportunity.
The camp concluded with a formal closing ceremony, where awards were presented to the groups with the best presentations and ideas. The ceremony celebrated the hard work and dedication of the participants, reinforcing the camp’s mission to shape the next generation of leaders.
The AKPK Leadership Camp 2024 left a lasting impact on students, empowering them to bring positive change back to their campuses. Equipped with practical skills in communication, teamwork, and ethical decision-making, participants returned feeling more confident in their abilities as leaders. Students from UiTM Puncak Alam, for example, shared plans to start projects that would inspire integrity and responsibility among their classmates in the Faculty of Business and Management.
The camp’s focus on financial literacy and environmental responsibility also sparked interest, leading many participants to share what they learned with friends and classmates. Informal sessions were organized where students discussed practical tips on goal setting and managing finances, spreading the camp’s lessons to a wider audience.
