ARAU, April 8, 2022 – The Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Perlis, has successfully organised its first University Social Responsibility (USR) Programme for 2022 by holding the Writing Innovation Abstracts for Beginners Workshop on Friday.
Lecturers from the learning centre, Miss Nor Alifah Rosaidi and Miss Huzaifah A Hamid, were speakers in the one hour workshop. Both speakers have won several innovation awards from local and international innovation competitions.
In the workshop, they shared their experiences and knowledge on how to write good abstracts for innovation competitions for budding innovators. Miss Nor Alifah and Miss Huzaifah also shared some interesting tips with participants on ways to create creative innovation video presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Canva.
The workshop received a tremendous response where it was attended by approximately 250 participants consisting of UiTM and non-UiTM staff and students, including the strategic partners of The Academy of Language Studies, UiTM Perlis such as University of Economics and Finance, Mongolia; Xinyang Normal University, China; and College of Language and Culture Studies, Royal University of Bhutan.
The Writing Innovation Abstracts for Beginners Workshop was initiated by the Head of Learning Centre, Dr Latisha Asmaak Shafie, to encourage innovation culture among educators and students. The free workshop also served as a platform for the learning centre to promote its experts, while fulfilling its social responsibility for knowledge sharing with the community.
