MELAKA, November 27, 2024 – Students from the Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (AT223) at UiTM Melaka’s Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology recently participated in an academic visit to Kambing Sahabat Enterprise in Pulau Indah, Selangor, to gain practical experience in agricultural production management.
The visit, part of the Production Management (MGT556) course, was led by lecturer Dr. Saida Farhanah Sarkam and Program Director Muhammad Daniel Putera Abdullah, and included 26 students, including an international participant from Universitas Andalas, Indonesia.
The group arrived at the goat farm, owned by UiTM alumnus Tuan Jalaluddin Jailani, early in the morning. The day included a tour, live demonstrations of vitamin injections for goats, and learning about supplementary feed preparation. Students also participated in hands-on tasks such as preparing Napier grass and producing silage.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to livestock health management and the production process for marinated goat products. A Q&A session with the enterprise’s management team followed, and a short quiz reinforced the day’s learnings.
The visit marked an important milestone for the students, enhancing their understanding of agricultural production and inspiring entrepreneurial considerations. This initiative highlights UiTM’s commitment to blending academic learning with real-world experiences.
