UiTM Perak Branch, 3 August 2024 – “REMINISCE” UiTM Diploma Fashion Show 2024 took place at the AEON Hall in Ipoh Klebang as our main sponsor, showcasing the creations of final semester students from the UiTM Perak Branch. The theme of the show, “REMINISCE,” focused on evoking enjoyable recollections of the past, as demonstrated through the designs presented by the Diploma in Fashion Design students.
There are 16 final-year students, presenting 51 looks of their collections themed “Tentang Rasa”. These collections were designed accordingly to the inspirations and selected clothing categories which potentially discovered to showcase their talents into the fashion industry. Each student presented a collection consisting of three (3) complete designs which is utilizing various techniques in designs, such as texture and fabrics experimentation, color, pattern manipulation, and surface embroidery.
The Reminisce Diploma Fashion Show was glads to have the Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs, UiTM Perak branch, Associate Professor Ts. Dr Norhayati Baharun, Assistant Rector of UiTM Perak Branch Tapah Campus, Dr Ahmad Zoolhelmi Alias and Dr Aznan Omar, Head of Centre, College of Creative Arts as honored guests. The opening ceremony starts with the first 8 young designers followed by a special performance by Kucaimars (Bigstage S2) as a brief interlude before the showcase continued with presentations of the final 8 young designers. The glorious ceremony ends with a vocal performance by Zuly Ali (Gimme the Mic) and the awards presentation for the winners.
The collections were screened by three judges who are esteemed figures in the Malaysian fashion industry which also the alumni of UiTM Seri Iskandar’s Fashion Design department. They are fashion designers, Qay Rahman & Firdaus from Thalia Atelier and Zachrin Jaafars, also the celebrities hijab & fashion stylist, Farah Dinana. The winners of each category were as follows:
- Best Collection award and Jury award from Thalia Atelier : Muhammad Isyraf Muhammad Nasir
- Best surface Award : Ahmad Zulhelmi Hafizi Ghazali
- Bronze Award : Nurul Izzah Mohd Zuraimi
- Silver Award : Ayu Masniza Hashim
- Gold award and Jury Award from Zachrin Jaafar : Nur Aliah Maisarah Mohamad
- Jury Award from Farah Dinana : Nurul Hanan Saadah Samsudin
Organized by the Fashion Design Program of UiTM Perak Branch, this show has effectively ignited interest and talent within the fashion industry with the potential and talent they have showcased, for these young designers to become future industry leaders.
