Highlights of the Visit to the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand

An official visit was made on November 1, 2023 to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) by six Heads of Study Centers, UiTM Perak Branch. The main goal of the visit is to be able to have strategic industry-university collaboration between the two universities prior to signing of a memorandum of understanding. Being the host and finding a platform for future collaboration, KMUTT divided the parties from the two universities into three main groups namely built environment, business, language studies and computing, informatics, and mathematics. Experts from both universities discussed and explored opportunities for knowledge and experience sharing in both research and teaching. Additionally, further discussion was initiated to explore and identify strategies for cooperative learning in the domains of business, industrial mathematics, data science, science, education, and the built environment. These could be accomplished through establishing exchange programs for short research projects, strengthening ties with study visits to the business sector and associated industries, matching grant exchange, strategic partner for international conference, etc. This initial visit was successful in providing opportunities for future cooperation and it was the first step to develop a stronger scholarly relationships between the two universities.
