UiTM Remains Among the World’s Top 36% of Universities in QS WUR 2027

SHAH ALAM, 18 June 2026 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) continues to demonstrate strong global competitiveness, achieving a world ranking of = 549 in the QS World University Rankings (WUR) 2027. UiTM maintains its position within the top 36% of 1,504 ranked universities worldwide, reflecting its sustained performance and continued standing among globally recognised higher education institutions. Nationally, UiTM retains its standing among Malaysia’s Top 10 universities for Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and International Research Network (IRN).  

The university sustains excellence in International Research Network, its top-performing indicator for the fourth consecutive year. With a score of 79, UiTM recorded a significant leap in its global IRN ranking, climbing 53 places from 458th to 405th place. This advancement highlights UiTM’s expanding international research collaborations, stronger global partnerships, and enhanced international visibility. 

The university also recorded positive momentum in Academic Reputation, improving by 14 places from 267 to 253, indicating growing recognition among global academic peers. In addition, UiTM’s sustainability performance continues to advance, with a score of 59.6, signifying persistent efforts to embed environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across its ecosystem.  

The UiTM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr Shahrin bin Sahib described the achievement as a testament to UiTM’s resilience and steady progress amid an increasingly competitive global higher education landscape. He further reaffirmed the university’s commitment to producing holistic and professional Bumiputera graduates who are globally competitive and grounded in integrity and purpose.
