UiTM Ranked in 10 Subjects in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026

Shah Alam, 21 January 2026 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has made its mark on the global stage by earning rankings in 10 subject areas in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026. Law stands out with a strong global position of 301–400, placing UiTM among just five universities in Malaysia listed for this discipline. This achievement highlights the university’s strong reputation and growing international influence in legal education.

In Education Studies (formerly Education), UiTM has made notable progress, placing within the 401–500 band, reflecting the university’s ongoing commitment to advancing education research and teaching excellence. Beyond this achievement, UiTM demonstrates strength across multiple disciplines. Arts and Humanities ranks in the 601–800 band, while Business and Economics, as well as Life Sciences and Social Sciences, are positioned in the 801–1000 band. Computer Science and Medical and Health (formerly Clinical and Health), on the other hand, have proudly entered the 1001+ band, and Engineering, along with Physical Sciences, is now listed within the 1001–1250 band.

The THE WUR by Subject assesses universities across 11 subject areas using a refined set of 18 performance indicators grouped under five core pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook. Compared to other global ranking systems, THE places greater emphasis on research performance, research reputation, citation impact, and industry engagement, providing a comprehensive measure of a university’s contribution to knowledge creation and transfer.
