UiTM Sustains Global Presence in the QS WUR: Sustainability 2026

SHAH ALAM, 18 November 2025 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) proudly ranks within the top 32% of institutions worldwide in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026. The ranking placed UiTM at =640 globally out of 2,002 institutions and =175 in Asia. The 2026 edition was highly competitive, with 251 new institutions entering the ranking. Despite intensified competition, UiTM recorded a 12% improvement in its overall score, securing the 14th position nationally. These accomplishments reflect UiTM’s dedication to advancing sustainable practices across education, research, and governance. The QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026 assesses institutions across three key categories: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance (ESG).

UiTM excelled in the Social Impact category, scoring 89.5 in the Knowledge Exchange lens and ranking =245 globally and =6 nationally. This strong performance is further enhanced by improvements in the Employability and Outcomes and Equality lenses, highlighting UiTM’s focus on graduate readiness, industry engagement, and inclusive educational practices. Furthermore, with a 57.8% score increase in the Environmental Research lens, UiTM demonstrates its commitment to strengthening research efforts that enhance the university’s overall impact in addressing key environmental and sustainability challenges. Overall, UiTM surpassed the global median scores across all evaluated categories. Such achievements reflect UiTM’s capacity to deliver impactful solutions to global challenges, while continually aligning governance with international best practices.
