KOTA SAMARAHAN, 10 Oct 2025 — The Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch, together with KnK Koffee Resources of Indonesia, successfully hosted an International Industry Webinar titled “Success Stories of KnK Koffee Resources.”
The session marked the first collaborative initiative under the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UiTM Sarawak and KnK Koffee Resources, signalling a strong start to future academic–industry engagements.
The webinar was officiated by Associate Professor Ts. ChM. Dr. Mohamad Isa bin Mohamadin, Deputy Rector (Academic and International Affairs), UiTM Sarawak. It featured Mr. Agung Kurniawan, founder of KnK Koffee Resources, as the keynote speaker, and was moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Maylia Pramono Sari from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Indonesia.

The programme aimed to share the entrepreneurial journey of KnK Koffee Resources, offer insights into the process of starting a new business, and strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset among participants by highlighting real challenges and opportunities in the industry.
In his opening address, Dr. Mohamad Isa commended the organising team for successfully creating a meaningful platform that bridges academia and industry. He noted that the webinar benefits various groups — particularly asnaf entrepreneurs, students, and lecturers. For asnaf entrepreneurs, it increased awareness of how academic–industry collaboration can support business growth. For students, it provided inspiration to translate entrepreneurial knowledge into project papers and future ventures. Lecturers, meanwhile, gained fresh real-world examples to enrich their teaching materials.
During the session, Mr. Agung Kurniawan shared how KnK Koffee Resources, established in 2008, grew from a small coffee shop into an integrated producer and supplier serving both retail and wholesale markets. Its business activities now include:
- Supplying coffee to cafés,
- Selling coffee equipment,
- Producing coffee,
- Operating a coffee school, and
- Exporting coconut sugar to ten countries.
Headquartered in Semarang, Central Java, with a branch office in Yogyakarta, KnK Koffee Resources has developed an ecosystem that supports the coffee and food-and-beverage (F&B) industries through innovation, quality, and education.
The webinar attracted strong participation and lively discussion during the Q&A session. Beyond sharing knowledge, the event served as a source of inspiration and collaboration, supporting UiTM’s mission to nurture graduates with an entrepreneurial mindset and global competitiveness.
