UiTM Made Digital Learning Creative and Engaging for School Chidlren

MERU, May 20, 2025 – In conjunction with the Service-Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM), final-year undergraduates from the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FSKM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, have expressed their excitement interacting with Year 5 students from KAFA Integrasi Imam Al-Ghazali. This was through the Smart Learning “Celik Multimedia, Cerdas Minda” program which involved over 120 Year 5 students and teachers from KAFA Integrasi Imam Al-Ghazali

The program was organized by 70 undergraduates  from the Bachelor of Computer Science (Multimedia Computing) CDCS253 program. Mohd Aniq bin Johari served as the Program Director while Ms. Wan Athirah Wan Endut served as the lecturer representative. The initiative aimed to enhance students’ and teachers’ understanding of digital technologies and multimedia applications in daily learning.

The program featured interactive activities like sharing sessions from UiTM students on “Belajar Guna Multimedia – Lagi Mudah, Lagi Seronok” and “Pembelajaran Kreatif dengan Aktiviti Interaktif dan Multimedia“. Students also participated in quizzes,  group activities such as “Design a Robot”, “Make the Robot”, and “Virus Crossword Puzzle” with the objective of boosting creativity and problem-solving. Teachers on the other hand attended a workshop on “Creating Creative Slides Using Canva” to enhance their digital teaching skills.

In addition to giving participants early exposure to technology and innovative teaching methods, these activities fostered social responsibility, cooperation, and communication skills. Most of the teachers and students expressed great satisfaction with the program’s entertaining and useful content.

Pn Norin binti Tamsir, the Head Teacher of KAFA Integrasi Imam Al-Ghazali, officiated on the occasion and highly supported the effort to empower pupils through early exposure to technology. She expressed her gratitude to UiTM for organizing the program, stating that the activities “not only show a more fun and interactive way of learning, but also help nurture skills that widen their perspective on the world”.

The SULAM program enabled UiTM students to contribute to community development and enhanced learning for students and teachers through modern approaches aligned with 21st-century education. It supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4, 9, and 17, which are Quality Education, Industry Innovation, and Partnerships, respectively, while advancing the Government’s vision for a knowledgeable society and Malaysia Madani.
