Seremban, 19 September 2024 – The Faculty of Administrative Science and Policy Studies (FSPPP), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) hosted the 1st International Student Leadership Symposium at the Dewan Tok Puan Sungei Ujong 2, UiTM Seremban from 18 – 20 September. Organised by the Sekretariat Mahasiswa Fakulti (SMF FSPPP) in collaboration with various internal student associations, the event aims to inspire future leaders with the theme “Integrity Matters: Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders Towards Ethical and Professionalism.”
This inaugural symposium attracted students from across the UiTM campuses, public universities throughout Malaysia and international universities, particularly in Indonesia via online, providing a platform for discussions on the importance of integrity in leadership.
The event featured esteemed keynote speaker Tan Sri Abu Kassim, Chairman of the Perdana International Anti-Corruption Champion Foundation (PIACCF), who shared insights on the critical role of integrity in effective leadership. The symposium was also attended by Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohd Sazili Shahibi, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs UiTM, officiated the symposium and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Hafizah Mohamed Harith, Dean of the FSPPP.
“Integrity must be more than rhetoric; it should be reflected in our actions and embody the values of Usaha, Takwa, Mulia,” said Prof. Dr. Hj. Mohd Sazili. “The theme, combined with our global orientation and local roots, promises a rich exchange of ideas with diverse participation from various universities and countries.”
The program includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, allowing participants to engage with leaders and peers. The symposium enhances participants’ understanding of integrity in leadership and motivates them to embody these values in their future careers.
